John Stradling is
distinguished by three circumstances in the annals of the family:
(1) he was the first instance of the indirect line of succession to the
estate when he succeeded his cousin;
(2) He had very pronounced literary tastes;
(3) he was the first Baronet.
John was descended from the second son of Thomas Stradling,
Harry
who married Jane Jubb. His father was Francis, son of that marriage.
Altogether, John & Elizabeth had nine sons and four daughters - to date no exact dates of birth have been found - these will be added when discovered.
