ELIZABETH ANN SPARGO
According to the book "Water under the Bridge" see
Spargo,
Robert, 1812 bio
Elizabeth Ann / Fanny 'fits the criteria of the child of Robert and Grace.
In actual fact, she DOES NOT.
c1838 Elizabeth Ann (Fanny) Cornwall - yet not showing
on 1841/51 census?
arrived in Sth Aust on board the "Neptune" on 15 Oct
1853
29 Apr 1854 married Thomas Stodden in the Wesleyan Mission House,
Kapunda
South Aust...... mc. (St Catherines House ref
9/324)
● Fanny's age is listed as 30 at time of marriage
-
which means born c1824 and therefore does not 'belong'
to Robert & Grace
● She came out to Australia, but not with the family -
leaving only 15 days later -
● She is married away from where her 'family' are in
Willunga - ie Kapunda, which would
be a great distance back then, as it still is today. No parents recorded
on her marriage
certificate or the BDM records for Sth Australia.
● She does not appear with the family on the 1841 nor the
1851 census for Cornwall.
● There is this birth Name: Spargo, Elizabeth Ann
Record Type: Births Quarter: March Year: 1838
District: Truro County: Cornwall Volume: 9 P: 324 -
but this of course, is now
proven to be not the same Elizabeth Ann / Fanny as above.

● Robert & Grace arrived in South Australia - within three months their next child is born named ELIZABETH - why name another child Elizabeth when if this Elizabeth Ann was theirs - and she was obviously still alive - as she went on to get married later?
