Provides for wife Elizabeth. To son Henry 1/2 of plantation on which I now live in Chichester containing abouth 198 acres. To son Francis the other 1/2 of said plantation with mansion house. To sons John and Samuel tract of land in Chichester containing 8 acres bought of Joseph Booth. Remainder to be sold and divided among all children, Henry, Benjamin, John, Samuel, Francis, Lydia, Christiana and daughter Prudence Dutton's children. Executors: Wife and sons Henry and Francis.

To son Francis the plantation where I live in Chichester containing 290 acres, he paying his brother William when 21, £20. To son John, tract of land in Chichester, containing 210 acres, paying his brother Wm. £20. To son Henry tract of land in Nottingham containing 490 acres. To son Wm, tract in Nottingham [being a south lott], containing 490 acres. To each of my daughters, viz Margaret, Prudence, Deborah and Hannah 1 shilling each. To wife Prudence all personal estate, also executrix. Witnesses: William Clayton, John Hanby.

 





Francis Reynolds, third child of Henry and Prudence Reynolds, born October 15, 1684, inherited his father's homestead of two hundred and ninety acres in Chichester and lived thereon to his death in 1760. He married, in December, 1712, Elizabeth, daughter of Benjamin and Christian Acton, of Salem, New Jersey, who was born February 26, 1690, and they had eight children of whom Lydia, who married Joseph Townsend, was the second.
