After the Crimea War...........................  in the archives is the (presumably) original parchment enlistment roll for the District of Yankalilla - Septamine Herbert had been appointed as the Commander and Recruiting Officer for a Voluntary Rifle Corp.     Needless to say, the Russian invasion never happened and the locals who were recruited had no idea which end of the rifle was which.
