Subject Ewens, John Reynolds -- Obituary
John Reynold Ewens was one of James Chambers’ mail riders on the Coorong
in 1852.
A family booklet claims that he was the person intercepted at Policemans Point by his elder brother, William, who was in the first
escort & told to carry on to the
Governor, advising of Tolmer’s approaching return.
Hence the name Policemans Point.
